Resettlement Case Manager- Afghan Community Programs - New Haven, CT

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Resettlement Case Manager to provide in-person support,social services,
& acculturation assistance to Afghan Humanitarian Parolees,
Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders,
refugees,
& other eligible immigrant populations.
We seek someone who is hands-on,
compassionate, highly organized, &committted to relationship-based work.
- Accomplishments of this role include:
- • Providing ongoing intensive in-person case management and advocacy services
- • Conducting self-sufficiency assessments and collaborating with clients to set realistic goals & action steps
- • Delivering core services including employment support benefits public assistance navigation ESL enrollment and coordination assistance with medical appointments follow-up care making appropriate referrals to community resources that support integration independence providing transportation as needed ensuring access services Community Integration Acculturation supporting clients understanding navigating U.S. systems community norms assisting practical needs including apartment setup household organization when required building trusting relationships respecting cultural context trauma histories individual strengths Compliance Documentation Team Collaboration learning complying applicable state local federal program requirements maintaining timely accurate case notes documentation reports meeting federal auditing standards becoming proficient multiple database systems used tracking services outcomes attending weekly supervision meetings participating annual performance evaluations collaborating closely supervisors colleagues external service providers Schedule Work Environment delivering person throughout New Haven Bridgeport some evening after-hours work may be required meet client needs includes physical activity assisting apartment setup moving household items Qualifications bachelor degree related field social work education anthropology psychology international studies women s studies public health similar at least years client-facing experience working vulnerable underserved populations familiarity Afghan culture resettlement experiences strong organizational communication prioritization skills exceptional interpersonal collaboration diverse teams service providers proficiency Microsoft Office experience using client databases reliable vehicle valid U.S. driver s license active auto insurance ability assist physical tasks housing set-up flexibility accommodate occasional after-hours services verbal fluency Dari Pashto strongly preferred Why This Role Matters resettlement doesn t end arrival ensures families guidance advocacy practical support build stable self-directed lives new communities If you values meaningful relationships hands-on problem-solving change lives we d love hear from you Why CIRI We re not just an employer we re part of your story view our open positions apply today job description salary
