    Description

    **Why This Role is Important to Us:**

    The Director, ADA Compliance Officer serves as the primary subject matter expert and central point of contact for all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related inquiries, requests, and accommodations. They must collaborate closely with Human Resources, Legal, operational leaders, managers, members, and employees on the interactive process.

    **What You'll Be Doing:**

    + Maintain ADA Compliance expertise regarding applicable state/federal law regulations and guidelines to provide accurate and informed advice on accommodation requirements and obligations. Stay informed about best practices, resources and updated compliance requirements.

    + Conduct thorough assessments to determine the specific accommodation needs of individuals with disabilities, considering their functional limitations and balancing those with the essential functions of the role and the needs of the business.

    + Engage Human Resources and applicable business leaders in the interactive process to identify and implement appropriate accommodations, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and documentation.

    + Provide informed advice and recommendations on reasonable accommodations that would effectively address the individual's disability-related barriers.

    + Work with internal legal counsel, HR and other stakeholders to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the process.

    + Review metrics to identify and explain trends to all levels of leadership proactively.

    + Maintain accurate and confidential records of accommodation requests, assessments, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.

    + Collaborate with legal and Human Resources Business Partners to conduct training sessions and workshops to provide education and training as appropriate.

    + Well-versed in legal compliance, including but not limited to ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable compliance regulations.

    + Familiarity with disability-related laws, regulations, and case law. Knowledge of assistive technologies and accessibility standards is beneficial.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess accommodation needs and recommend effective solutions.

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

    **What We're Looking For:**

    Required Education:

    + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

    Desired Education:

    + Master's preferred

    + Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC)

    Required Experience:

    + 5-10 years experience providing ADA accommodation guidance and support

    + 2-3 years experience in law firm, health plan, or health system.

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Ability to accurately interpret contract language and regulations and develop policy, procedures, training, and required materials for members, providers, and employees of health care delivery and insurance plan

    + Staff management skills and experience

    + Budget management experience

    + Advanced skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    + Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Experience working with senior-level management

    + Strong ability to present to large groups, including regulators

    + Demonstrated leadership skills

    + Exceptional judgment in decision-making

    + Ability to meet tight deadlines through effective leadership and influencing others to produce results

    + Ability to work independently and with flexibility

    + Exceptional attention to detail is required for the position
