    Clinical Referral Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities

    • Efficiently process referrals entered into the electronic health records (EHR) system.
    • Compile necessary clinical information about patients to facilitate medical and dental referrals and specialist appointments.
    • Schedule referral appointments and communicate details such as location, date, and time to patients.
    • Track referrals to ensure completion and receipt of specialists??? records in the EHR, with assistance from medical assistant staff.
    • Upload consultation and diagnostic reports into the EHR, ensuring proper documentation.
    • Safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy.
    • Provide appropriate referral authorizations to specialist offices.
    • Obtain prior authorizations for diagnostic services and procedures as required.
    • Verify patient eligibility and update contact information during each visit.
    • Provide coverage at other sites as needed.
