- Import and carefully verify weekly work time records from the timekeeping system.
- Ensure accurate and timely transmission of payroll to the vendor on a weekly basis.
- Maintain the integrity of the payroll database, updating records for rate changes, tax withholdings, and other variables.
- Execute journal entries and reconcile accounts for garnishments and child support orders.
- Accurately update payroll profiles, including changes in union dues, fee deductions, and other relevant adjustments.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related data.
- Act as a resource for employees and managers, addressing inquiries and requests regarding payroll information.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in processing payroll; experience with a major payroll vendor preferred.
- 2+ years of direct involvement in managing the payroll process for employees.
- Familiarity with automated time and attendance systems is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with employees and management.
