Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a lecturer, with the following related responsibilities:

Teach College Success Courses (IS 108, IS 108L & IS 111, or other new IS courses offered) in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid;

Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress;

Assess student learning using course competencies and program learning outcomes;

Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught; and

Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline; and

Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's in Social Sciences, Education, or related field; OR
Bachelor's in Social Sciences, Education, or related field and 3 years of experience working in a Higher Education setting

Desirable Qualifications:

Five-Day Experiential Learning Institute (FELI) or Kahi'iaka Professional Development Certificate from Kapi'olani CC;
Minimum of 12 months of teaching experience at a community college;
Demonstrated ability to work with community college students;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
