Job Description

Position Purpose

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests with precision and accuracy. Your role also involves assisting with research and development activities and maintaining quality control records to ensure reliable results.

Role Specific Competencies

Assess the importance of test results to provide the best possible care for patients.
Demonstrate proficiency in conducting tests and documenting critical results promptly.
Maintain a smooth shift transition by updating communication logs and ensuring equipment maintenance.
Stay compliant with hospital and departmental policies while meeting turnaround time requirements.
Perform necessary preventive maintenance on equipment and conduct quality control measures regularly.
Conduct laboratory tests accurately and troubleshoot any technical issues efficiently.
Handle specimen intake, ensuring integrity and completeness for testing.
Assist in resolving technical and operational problems, contributing to the improvement of test methods.

Qualifications and Experience

Prior experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.

Physical Requirements

Ability to focus on detail for extended periods, with good hearing and memory retention.
Capable of lifting objects up to 20 pounds and possessing necessary vision abilities.
Proficient in task management and operation based on the conceptual basis.
