    IP Prosecution Paralegal

    Our prestigious law firm client is in need of an IP Prosecution Paralegal to work in their downtown Manhattan office. Candidate must have extensive USPTO knowledge and ability to search databases for Trademark and Patent clearance searches. Experience with IP work as part of a loan agreement a plus but not required. Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office required)

    RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

    Perform and review IP searches, including initial screening and searches relating to due diligence projects

    • Administer files, filing price-quotes and invoices

    • Draft trademark prosecution documents for filing and oversee completion of filing process

    • Prepare reports regarding pending patent and trademark applications; follow-up on daily docket entries and maintain portfolios with supervising attorneys

    • Enter and track due dates into docketing system and monitor actions due

    • Communicate with the USPTO, USCO, attorneys, agents, outside counsel, vendors, and staff about filing and prosecution matters

    • Bachelor's degree

    • At least one (1) year of work experience with respect to IP filings

    • Knowledge of USPTO and USCO procedures

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)

    • Knowledge of IP legal databases and docketing software

    • Knowledge of trademark search vendors
