Bookseller Role

We are seeking a part-time bookseller to join our team at the Eames Institute's partner bookstore, William Stout Architectural Books in San Francisco.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about architecture and design culture, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to communicate effectively with customers. The ideal candidate will also have basic computer skills and experience working with retail inventory management systems such as Shopify.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service ensuring a welcoming environment is maintained throughout the store.
• Engage actively with each customer individually providing accurate product information advice on architectural publications available within the store stock held on floor shelves or stored offsite locations accessed via barcode scanning for availability checks when necessary before making recommendations sales staff review proposed purchases made prior recommending related titles while avoiding overstocking similar items reducing need frequent restocking displays maintaining visual appeal consistent store brand image across entire operation including social media platforms advertised events
