Job summary

The HR Generalist will administer and participate in the development and implementation of pro-active strategies and services that support an effective organization-wide human resources program with focused attention on on-boarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation and compliance and policy consultation/creation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure organizational and department compliance by maintaining personnel files and human resources policies and procedures in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Responsible for completion of, proper routing and filing of employee documents according to Foundation policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Process personnel updates; disseminate approved forms; ensure proper approvals recordkeeping; provide research subject matter expertise effective problem resolution employee relations issues including maintaining appropriate records ADP working managers employees performance issues disciplinary actions terminations assist PAE recruitment efforts include sourcing assessing screening interviewing reference checking job offers Administration UAF compensation structure applying new/vice positions preparation recruitment ensuring employees fit appropriate salary grades oversee new hire onboarding experience hiring manager compliance process improvement liaison University Arizona Human Resources Department transactions promotions DDC submittals incumbent reviews benefits programs medical dental vision group life disability plans retirement annual open enrollments plan develop area industry surveys analyze results develop specific recommendations leadership collaborate HR team facilities management needs building golf cart maintenance performs duties assigned Knowledge Skills Abilities commitment collaborative team environment shared goals ability work efficiently variety individuals donors PAE colleagues deans faculty staff excellent communication interpersonal skills effectively communicate verbally written demonstrated commitment exceptional customer service translate PAE guiding principles donor-centricity collaboration work practices recognize handle highly confidential sensitive information discrete professional manner work excellent organizational attention detail prioritize multiple projects meet strict deadlines deliverables anticipate discern priorities meet deadlines little supervision adept problem-solving using judgment situations initiative tact confidentiality exceptional work ethic track record personal initiative openness ideas flexibility adapt succeed multi-task fast-paced environment changing processes occasional ambiguity inspire cooperation participation proficiency Microsoft Office software Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook additional software required perform essential duties position Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree Human Resources Management related field three five years generalist experience OR equivalent combination experience training education approved Human Resources Work Environment This position be required evenings weekends necessary overnight travel occur occasional basis standard office environment high exposure computer screens Must walk climb stairs various office locations valid driver license
