    Description
    Tidewater Staffing is currently seeking Marine Shop Technicians for work in Portsmouth, VA.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Assemble and disassemble fiberglass lifeboats.
    • Inspect, repair, adjust, and/or replace mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components within using hand tools, power/pneumatic tools, and electrical test equipment.
    • Assist higher-level personnel in more complex maintenance, repair, servicing, and troubleshooting of diesel engines, lifting hooks, davit/crane structures and winches.
    • Assist with fiberglass repairs (grinding, mold prepping, new part production, etc.)
    • Assist with painting (buffing, cosmetic defects, sanding, etc.)
    • Forklift operation (training provided.)
    • Crane operation (training provided.)

    Qualifications and Education requirements:
    • Basic mechanical skills.
    • General 12v electrical knowledge.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Shipyard experience preferred.
    • Auto/Diesel mechanical knowledge preferred.
    • Offshore Certifications preferred (provided if not available.)
    • Automotive/Aircraft/Airplane painting experience preferred.
