The Registered Mammography Technologist produces high quality breast imaging procedures while following guidelines established by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist), ACR (American College of Radiology) and MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program).

Correlates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed provider. Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.

Selects appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.

Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (preferred upon hire, or must obtain within six months of hire)
