    Job Description THE SALVATION ARMY NORTH CENTRAL DIVISION NORRIDGE CITDADEL CORPS POSITION: Custodian - Location/ Department: Norridge Citadel Corps - Reports to: Business Manager - FLSA Category: Non-Exempt - Status Type: RPT OUTCOMES To maintain a clean, healthy, and secure environment for employees and users of the Norridge Citadel Corps. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Perform custodial duties like vacuuming, mopping, and emptying trash - Maintain inventory of supplies - Prepare rooms for activities - Monitor equipment and Salvation Army vehicles - Supervise community service workers - Ensure safety and security of the building - Perform other assigned duties **REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS** Under direct supervision of the Business Manager, this role involves planning, scheduling, and carrying out responsibilities within policies and guidelines, representing the Army and its mission. **PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS** Evaluation based on achieving outcomes effectively and timely, reviewing every 30, 60, and 90 days. **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE** - High School diploma or equivalent preference - Two years of building maintenance or custodial services experience **COMPETENCIES** - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Initiative-taking and self-starting ability - Task planning and prioritization skills - Attention to detail - Positive attitude and flexibility - Supportive of The Salvation Army's mission **POSITION LIMITATIONS** - Allocate approved Army resources only - Keep Business Manager informed - Adhere to all policies and procedures **PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT** - Light to heavy physical work - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Work in a Corps/Community Center environment with varying noise levels **THE SALVATION ARMY MISSION STATEMENT** An evangelical part of the Christian church, motivated by God's love, with a mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination. **Additional Information** Do you wish to make a lasting difference in the world using your skills?
