General Maintenance Mechanic tasks include any activity needed for maintaining the plant facilities and equipment
Candidate must be proficient in troubleshooting, repair and installation of electrical equipment and infrastructure maintenance with the ability to bend and run conduit
Must have a working knowledge of electrical system 120, 208, 277 and 480 volts
General duties include but are not limited to mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, welding, pipefitting, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting
Performs periodic inspections and tests and reports findings
Receives general instructions from supervisors and notice of service required from supervisors and other plant personnel
Works from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions and specifications
Uses all hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for completion of assignments
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to: Installs, repairs, maintains and fabricates, as required, plant facilities and equipment and performs other general maintenance and service functions
Duties include, but are not limited to power plant, mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, welding, pipefitting, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting
Performs periodic inspections and tests and reports findings
Receives general instructions from supervisors and notice of service required from supervisors and other plant personnel
Works from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions and specifications
Uses all hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for completion of assignments
May direct other employees assigned to the job.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a primary and secondary skill, primary must be electrician, and secondary either carpenter, pipe fitter, air conditioning mechanic, maintenance welder or machine repairer
Must be able to operate material handling equipment and rigging equipment
Apprenticeship papers, Journeymen's card or 5 years or more of equivalent work experience in a skilled trade discipline is required
A working knowledge of machine tools and welding is a plus.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are necessary
The candidate must supply all customary hand tools of the trade
New employees must pass the company physical and drug test
Must regularly demonstrate the ability to lift a nominal weight, climb ladders, utilize elevated working platforms and bending while servicing equipment
*Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
US citizenship is required.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
