    Job Description

    The Process Engineer role at Aqua-Chem / Nijhuis Americas involves enhancing and creating new installations and procedures. The process engineer plays a crucial role in the project team from inception to execution.

    Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    Location: Onsite in Knoxville, TN

    Compensation: Dependent on Experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design

    • Interpret and gather technical information
    • Create designs including PFD, P&IDs, layout, and mass balance
    • Develop a plan for installation commissioning
    • Make adjustments to processes, products, or equipment

    Review

    • Advise on process and equipment selection
    • Propose enhancements to current or new processes
    • Create project proposals for deviations
    • Conduct on-site surveys for technical advice

    Reporting

    • Establish installation guidelines
    • Create process descriptions
    • Document research findings in reports

    Communication

    • Discuss progress with stakeholders
    • Establish contacts with suppliers and technology partners for innovation

    Responsibility

    • Provide quality detail engineering
    • Adhere to safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations

    Ownership

    • Halt activities if solutions are inadequate
    • Independently complete assignments
    • Promote safety and compliance with work procedures

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
    • 3+ years of engineering experience
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD a plus
    • PE certification a bonus but not required

    Requirements:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Effective teamwork and communication abilities
    • Ability to work overtime if needed
