    Gainesville, FL 32606Secure Care Home Health has been in business since 2009 and specializes in providing in-home therapy and rehabilitative services. Secure Care Home Health is part of the Alivia Care Solutions family of care (a subsidiary of Alivia Care, Inc.) and we service the area surrounding Gainesville and Ocala FL. Our specialized home care team focuses on physical, occupational, and speech therapies helping patients regain mobility and independence through a wide range of rehabilitative services.

    The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) may also known as Speech Therapist (ST) assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments of our Secure Care patients. The Therapist will conduct evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools. This position will collaborate in case conferences to determine the most effective therapies for the participant. S/he will collaborate to develop treatment plans and utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. They will establish treatment priorities that include advising, education, evaluations, and counseling patients.

    Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides speech therapy services in accordance with the plan of care as determined by the interdisciplinary team
  • Evaluates participant level of functionality
  • Assists in the development of the therapy plan of care
  • Observes, evaluates, records, and reports on the patient's progress
  • Participate in organizational committees as identified that enhance the working relationships between departments within Secure Care Home Health
  • At all times, represent Secure Care Home Health professionally through care and/or services provided to all clients and patients
  • Comply with Secure Care Home Health policies, procedures, and standard practices
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patients and families within Secure Care Home Health as per government mandates
  • Use resources in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Promote Secure Care Home Health through participation in community and professional organizations
  • Improve own professional knowledge and skill level
  • Additional duties, as assigned

    • Qualifications and Requirements:

    Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology, or equivalent
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Active Florida licensure in Speech Therapy
  • Current Florida driver's license and active auto insurance

    • Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years working as a Speech Therapist
  • Minimum of 1 year working with the frail and elderly
  • Minimum of 1 year working with those with dementia

    • Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated skills reflecting knowledge of speech therapy
  • Experience in restorative and rehabilitation strategies to improve speech
  • Current knowledge of geriatric issues and best practices
  • Good judgment, problem-solving and cognitive skills
  • Ability to lead and work within an interdisciplinary setting
  • Enthusiasm for caring for the geriatric population
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards for the speech and language impaired and recommend improvements to establish a safer environment
  • Must have or obtain First Aid and CPR certification (from a certified provider) for this position due to participant contact by the first day working with participants
