    Quality Engineering Manager I
    Position Overview

    Shaw Industries is looking for a Quality Manager to help oversee a team of lab associates to ensure that first quality concentrate production and yarn is delivered to the division; this will include Continuous Improvement efforts within the department and driving a culture of Quality-focused associates at all levels of production within the facility.

    Additionally, the Quality Manager will also assist in running investigations for off-quality products and coordinate with customers on production improvement efforts.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the operations of the Quality Department and testing lab for color compounding and grass.
    • Work with each department to identify and solve quality related problems and reduce plant off quality.
    • Oversee quality claims management for suppliers and customers.
    • Participate in new product development (including manufacturing process ability).
    • Professionally interface with outside groups (sales, marketing, R&D, Technical Development).
    • Serve on Plant Leadership Team and give input on plant wide issues.
    • Manage SQS/ISO 9001 system to ensure it is accurate, adequate and effective.
    • Understand and Support all SAFE, SMS, TPM, Lean Six Sigma, and Environmental/ISO 14001 efforts.
    • Assist other departments in projects as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in a Quality Management role may be substituted in lieu of degree.
    • Prior experience in quality manufacturing environment

    Preferred:

    • 4 year college degree, preferably in the field of engineering, quality or other related technical field.
    • 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment; engineering or leadership role preferred. Textile or plastics experience preferred.
    • Green Belt or Black Belt certification or the ability to obtain.
    • Lead Auditor certification or the ability to obtain.
    • Advanced Excel knowledge and strong background in PowerPoint or other spreadsheet and presentation software.
    • Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and familiarity with Minitab, SPSS, or other statistical software
    • Experience in a lab environment
    Work Shift
    8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
