    Description
    This position is located in the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Watershed Protection Branch,
    Regulatory Support Program. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for managing the
    Branch's coordination of the Regional Water Planning process. Duties related to that management

    include:
    supervision of two staff members, coordinating and directing the work of other Branch
    managers who serve as liaisons to the Regional Water Planning Councils; overseeing the budget for
    Regional Water Planning efforts, including contract procurement and contractor oversight; providing
    guidance for and managing the schedules of the Regional Water Planning Councils; coordinating
    internal and external technical work in support of water planning efforts; and coordinating with other
    state agencies and stakeholders.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with Georgia's Regional Water Planning process or with another state's water
    planning efforts.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with public speaking to local governments and the public.
    Experience managing contracts and overseeing contractors.

    • Demonstrated successes with stakeholder/public involvement.
    • Effective delegation, team coordination and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Experience developing and managing project implementation schedules
    Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, geology, engineering (agricultural, chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical or sanitary) or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of professional experience in environmental enforcement, environmental health, environmental monitoring, environmental protection or environmental research


    Note:

    An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis for a maximum of Two years non-managerial/supervisory experience.
