    Apogee is seeking a Communications Engineer to provide Spectrum Management in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) BZES. This position is located at Los Angeles AFB, CA.

    What you will be doing:
    Provide spectrum management, utilizing technical expertise, with Spectrum XXI software and DD1494 processes, to develop strategies for SSC radio communications, frequency engineering, and protection of the radio frequency spectrum applicable to radio communications and frequency management policies, principles, and disciplines
    Serve as a technical advisor to the SSC spectrum management office on spectrum management, radio communications, frequency engineering, protection of radio frequency spectrum as applicable to radio communications and frequency management policies, principles, and disciplines
    Assist the SSC Spectrum Manager to resolve problems and provide end user support, guidance, and training as required relative to all aspects of spectrum management, submission of frequency request, and management of SSC's radio frequency cases and submission request for radio frequency authorizations application/proposals to the Air Force Spectrum Management Office (AFSMO)
    Conduct studies and surveys on radio frequency usage to obtain data and develop information to recommend new policy, regulations, and procedures for the continued improvement of radio frequency operations
    Manage case submissions, ensuring accuracy by developing radio network engineering designs, maps, block diagrams for customers while using the latest frequency management automation systems for timely submission to AFSMO for processing and forwarding to National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA)
    Monitor organizational effectiveness of national policy and guidance in meeting internal and external telecommunications objectives and goals and make recommendations for improvements
    Provide support and guidance to program offices in the development of the Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessment (SSRA)
    Coordinate reviews of SSRAs and adjudication of comments, facilitate the formal signature process within SSC. Support the development of spectrum registration strategies
    Develop and maintain a Spectrum Management Report (Section F, Deliverable 31) that tracks requirements, considerations, recommendations, policies, and risks to support the approval of SSC operations and field capabilities for programs in the Electromagnetic (E/M) spectrum as well as ensure bandwidth concerns are addressed efficiently

    Security Clearance Required:
    TS w/ SCI eligibility

    One of the following education/experience combinations:
    Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR
    Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR
    11yrs relevant experience in lieu of degree

    Spectrum Management experience within the Department of Defense environment
    Spectrum XXI software and DD1494 processes experience
    Familiarity with frequency request, management of SSC's radio frequency cases, and submission request for radio frequency authorizations application/proposals to the Air Force Spectrum


    Compensation and Benefits:


    Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HSA and HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves.

    Regular part time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.

    This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
    The base pay for this position ranges from $82,000.00 to $137,000.00 across the U.S. There is a different range applicable for specific work locations.

    Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training and education.
