    Job Title: Food Service Department Manager

    Location: East End Health and Rehab Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States of America

    Description

    The primary purpose of this job is to manage the operation of the food service department. This includes staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety, and kitchen sanitation in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans, and within federal, state, and local standards.

    The successful candidate will assure quality nutritional services are provided daily, supervise food service staff, and follow all health, sanitary, infection control policies, and food service department policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage food service department operations, including staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety, and kitchen sanitation.
    • SUPERVISE FOOD SERVICE STAFF.
    • AFFIRM THE PROVISION OF QUALITY NUTRITIONAL SERVICES DAILY.
    • FOLLOW HEALTH, SANITARY, INFECTION CONTROL POLICIES AND FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

    Requirements

    • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT.
    • CERTIFIED FOOD SERVICE MANAGER OR SIMILAR NATIONAL CERTIFICATION FOR FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY FROM A NATIONAL CERTIFYING BODY; OR ASSOCIATE'S OR HIGHER DEGREE IN FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT OR IN HOSPITALITY WITH COURSE STUDY INCLUDING FOOD SERVICE OR RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT FROM AN ACCREDITED INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING.
    • FOOD HANDLER LEVEL II OR SIMILAR FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION PER STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT.
    • ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH AND FOLLOW VERBAL AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.
    • ABILITY TO WORK WITH SUPERVISORS, CO-WORKERS, DIRECT REPORTS, AND COMMUNITY STAFF IN THE PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES.
    • ABILITY TO PERFORM AND ASSURE PROPER SAFETY AND SANITARY TECHNIQUES IN ALL AREAS OF FOOD SERVICE SERVICES.
