    Your Job:

    The Minnesota Charter School Contractor will function as a contract Accounting Manager with our Consulting Services department, providing key knowledge and support to our team as we grow our Minnesota client base. The contract Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing Accounting and Consulting activities as well as other tasks and duties outlined below.

    **Note: the Accounting Manager contractor does not need to be based in Minnesota, but does need to have working knowledge and experience in Minnesota compliance, revenue streams, grants and education funding as it relates to charter schools.

    Key/Essential Responsibilities

    Accounting

    Monthly Close

    • Monitor and analyze revenue and expenses.
    • Collect, consolidate, and evaluate financial data.

    Audit

    • Review, consolidate and prepare the schedules for annual audits in collaboration with outside audit firms

    Payroll

    • Review and approve payroll

    Finance

    Analysis and Reporting

    • Summarize and report on the current financial status.
    • Review and analyze financial forecasts, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial data.
    • Draft annual budget.
    • Draft financial reports

    You Should Know:

    1. Skyward and/or SMART Finance
    2. UFARS and Minnesota Compliance
    3. Special Education Funding (SEDRA/MEGS)
    4. Minnesota revenue streams, grants, and audit
    5. Third Party AP & Payroll (importing entries to accounting system)
    6. Microsoft Office 365; Proficiency in Excel
    7. , Anybill
    8. QuickBooks, Intacct, FundEZ, or similar accounting software

    Contract Details:

    • Hours: 20-30 hrs/week; 2-3 days/week (primary hours within the 9am-5pm EST window)
    • Length of Contract: 3 months; preferred continued ad-hoc support throughout 2024, if possible
