Description
Our client is actively seeking a Site Reliability Engineering Manager to join their organization. This is Direct Hire opportunity is hybrid and located in the Des Moines area.Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for the strategy, governance, operation, training, and architecture of the company's cloud infrastructure.
Coordinate with teams across the organization to address issues, manage incidents and communicate actions and trainings as needed.
Create, track and report on operational metrics and OKRs for all aspects of cloud operations.
Design a future where all the company IaaS configuration can be managed by code, not by clicks.
Design and advise on multi-region, highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise, and web-scale environments.
Engage with product development teams to improve production issues, facilitate post incident reviews, and develop action plans to continuously improve quality and reliability.
Present periodic updates to business stakeholders, leaders, executives, and senior management.Provide guidance on policies and standards to ensure security controls are appropriately applied.
Provide insights on infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and security.
Ultimate responsibility for Performance, Availability, Incident, Capacity, Budget, Configuration and Change
Qualifications and Experience:
7+ years of professional development experience.
2 years of experience working with Docker/Docker orchestration/Kubernetes (preferred).
Deep experience with AWS hosting best practices and design principles including IAM, VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, ALB, ELBS, SES and EKS.
Demonstrated vision and ownership of major technologies, infrastructure, and systems across varying landscapes.Experience in IaaS operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting notifications and escalations.
Experience leveraging IaaS and PaaS platform features (Storage, Database, Compute, AI, SMS) to meet technical requirements.
Experience migrating workloads and technology to IaaS and PaaS solutions.
Experience with infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting in cloud environments (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Golang, etc.) and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible.
Exposure to CI tooling such as SonarQube, Artifactory, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
