The Department of Cell Biology is currently seeking a full time Post Doctoral Associate to work in Miami. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
Core Job Functions
1. Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
2. Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
3. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
4. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
5. Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
6. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
• Strong experience with Molecular Biology: DNA cloning protocols, DNA and RNA purification, PCR and qPCR techniques are required.
• Experience with In-vitro transfection techniques using DNA and SiRNA is required.
• Cell culture, Western Blot analysis, immuno-precipitation, post-translational regulation, cell signaling is required.
• Experience with T-cell Proliferation assays (CTL), ELISA, cancer models and immunotherapy. Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry knowledge is required.
• Strong experience with in vivo experiments using murine models: including transgenic, humanized and a variety of murine cancer models.
Core Qualifications
Education:
MD or Ph.D. in relevant field
PhD. Molecular Biology/ Microbiology/ Immunology preferred.
Experience:
No prior experience required
Cell Culture and Molecular Biology experience is required: plasmid DNA cloning and isolation, RNA silencing protocols. PCR and qPCR experience preferred. In-vivo Mouse Models, preferred. Experience with cell culture, Western blot analysis, T-cells assays (CTL), ELISA, cancer models and immunotherapy, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry knowledge. Some experience with animal experiments preferred.
