    Job Description Job Description The Controller supervises property accounting function; supervising accounting, accounts payable, receiving, and payroll functions, internal and external reporting; assisting with Sarbanes-Oxley implementation and performing such other reasonable duties management may request.

    Manages and supervises assigned fiscal operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Assists in the development of short and long range financial plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates department activities with other departments and agencies as needed.

    Provides professional financial advice to supervisors; makes presentations to supervisors, management, boards, and committees.
    Communicates official financial plans, policies and procedures to staff.

    Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; prepares annual budget requests; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.

    Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

    Prepares a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision-making purposes.
    Establishes and maintains internal control procedures and assures that state and national standard accounting procedures are maintained.
    Develops financial studies and plans. Forecasts, estimates, and monitors the financial condition of the Company to assure the fiscal well-being of the firm.
    Oversees the reconciliation of related ledgers and accounts.
    Oversees property billings and accounts receivable.
    QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or a closely related field. Minimum of five years Accounting and Gaming experience. Casino accounting experience preferred. CPA or MBA a plus.
    LANGUAGE ABILITYAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively after groups of customers or employees of organization.
    MATH ABILITYAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    COMPUTER SKILLSMust possess intermediate PC skills. Microsoft Office experience required. Must be proficient in various accounting software programs. Great Plains experience a plus.
    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSESMust be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
