This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment for their employees and adhering to all company and relevant customer and industry HS&E guidelines, standards, processes, and procedures with the help of the CCLP HS&E team.
This includes on the job training, mentorship, and oversight of their team of technicians to ensure a safe, efficient and effective work environment.
The Area Manager, AMS has full P&L responsibility and accountability for their work zone including but not limited to reporting requirements as set forth by management and the daily management of expenses, costs of goods (COGS), personnel and other operational costs associated with their operations to ensure relevant financial and operational objectives are achieved.
Tactically, the Area Manager, AMS is responsible for the planning, scheduling and management of their technician's time and work activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with CCLP policies, processes and procedures along with customer requirements and expectations.
In collaboration with Supply Chain, the SM shares responsibility for overseeing the transfer of parts and timely systematic inventory transactions to ensure inventory integrity along with forecasting to ensure customer needs are met.
Working closely with Regional Compression Parts and Service Manager and Sales to develop job scope, labor hours and parts needed and timing of work to be performed, the Area Manager, AMS is responsible for managing all aspects of the Services provided from their work zone, including but not limited to; field and shop repairs, Overhauls, Revamps and preventative maintenance of customer owned compression equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise directly or indirectly all technicians assigned to respective work zone
Assign tasks and duties of direct reports as appropriate
Perform performance appraisals for all direct reports, manage performance on an ongoing basis (not annually)
Approve appropriate merit compensation adjustments for service personnel
Assist in recruitment and hiring of field personnel. Ensure onboarding is complete and all relevant training completed
Resolve conflicts among subordinates. Initiate and document and performance improvement plans and/or disciplinary action when appropriate
Monitor and perform appropriate evaluations for the quarterly incentive plan
Scheduling of workload, prioritization of tasks and timing of vacations for direct reports
Ensure customer service levels and quality metrics are established and met for work zone
Asset Management
Responsible for overall maintenance, condition, and integrity of assigned assets including but not limited to: (trucks, shop and field equipment, specialty company owned tooling, etc.)
Monitor vehicle mileage and costs. Initiate removal/disposal and replacement for service personnel vehicles when service life has been met.
Manage inventory in conjunction with the respective Parts Manager to ensure necessary parts are kept on hand and to optimize stock levels.
Enforce authority over parts purchases to minimize unnecessary stocking of parts and excessive material costs.Safety and Environmental
Ensure that all company guidelines for creating and maintaining a safe environment are understood and strictly followed
In conjunction with HSEQ, attend and oversee monthly safety meetings
Review all required safety documentation for safety violations and/or accident reporting, take appropriate action
Ensure customer safety guidelines are met and ensure that CSI's safety guidelines are met by CSI contractors
Enforce CSI's safety policy for company vehicles
Ensure that CSI complies with any and all environmental regulations.
Maintain environmental records relative to operations such as disposal of waste oil and filters.
Overall management of labor hours (regular and over-time) through effective pre-planning and labor scheduling
Review spending practices of field personnel weekly
Review Field Service Orders:
ensure that the entry of all information is correct and that area personnel are trained in the correct methods of completing Field Service Orders
Initiate appropriate warranty claims
Review coding of charges and approve invoices for those charges
Review monthly financials with Regional Operations Manager drive improvement as required
Assist the Regional Operations Manager with generation of the area's annual Business Plan
Training
Ensure that field personnel are appropriately trained, schedule appropriate training classes as required
Ensure alignment and adherence to CCLP technical Competency Program for all employees
Oversee CCLP mentorship program, providing on the job training to all CCLP technicians
Attend training sessions to keep abreast of new equipment
Ensure all direct and indirect employees have been appropriately updated on company policies and procedures
Identify and train potential successors
Sales and Customer Relations
Respond to CSI's customers in a cooperative, responsive manner (display a sense of urgency and empathy)
Establish relationships with customers' field personnel and local operations management
Pass any leads obtained at the field level on to the appropriate sales personnel or to the Regional Operations Manager
Attend all appropriate / required customer meetings
Ensure real-time and effective communication with customers, sales and management with respect to customer operations
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
5+ years' experience managing teams in the energy sector or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Mechanical background a must, gas compression experience preferred
Prefer supervisory experience in the oil & gas industry
High school diploma or GED required
Prefer Associates of Science in industry related program
Thorough understanding of the mechanical aspects of reciprocating and rotary screw natural gas compressors
Thorough understanding of the mechanical aspects of natural gas-powered engines
Understanding of ancillary compression and gas production-related equipment
Interpersonal skills necessary to perform supervisory function and the ability to interact appropriately with customers
Must be reliable, dependable, and able to work long hours if required
Must be able to travel whenever necessary
Must work well in a team-oriented environment
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Should have general computer skills and be capable of utilizing the computer as an appropriate diagnostic tool.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid driver's license, be able to maintain an acceptable driving record in line with CSI requirements and possess a clean driving record.
