    Description

    Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) at Aston Infusion Clinic

    Experience and Education:

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by the first day of employment.
    • Completion of Medical Assistant training in an approved program, or a minimum of one (1) year of experience in patient care in a physician's office.
    • Medical Assistant certification and maintaining current certified status through recognized associations.

    Job Duties:

    • Takes, records, and reports patient vital signs, performs procedures, and conducts diagnostic testing.
    • Escorts patients to different areas as directed.
    • Documents patient care tasks in medical records and provides education as needed.
    • Assists in patient care by preparing exam rooms and ensuring availability of necessary information.
    • Assumes responsibility for specific tasks as directed by clinic management.
    • Serves as a preceptor for new medical assistants and externs.
    • Performs administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining supplies.
    • May function as a clinic safety officer and ensure patient safety.
    • Maintains skills through training programs and annual competency reviews.
    • Provides occasional supervision to support personnel.
    • Performs core functions related to patient care and maintaining records.
    • Other Duties: Performs additional assigned tasks.
