Roles and Responsibilities + Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high-voltage substations. Perform on-site hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150. Examples of relays to be tested are SEL-311L, SEL-387, SEL-487, SEL-421, SEL-351S, GE L90, GE D60 among others.

+ This position will be with our Mountain West team, reporting to the Mountain West Area Lead (AL) or Department Manager (DM).

The work will primarily be located throughout Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, and other areas within the Mountain West region.

+ Drive overall project scope, including testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on high-voltage substations for electric utilities and renewable plants.

+ Sequence, schedule, and coordinate demolition/construction/testing outages in utility substations.

+ Prepare isolation plans for required work that allow the work to be safely performed without causing unintended trip events.

+ Coordinate electricians, relay technicians, and commissioning engineers to deliver properly installed, tested, and energized new protection and SCADA systems.

Lead and supervise these staff while on site. + Inventory BOM list to receive items on-site and coordinate any missing items with the design team. + Provide field engineering and verification of wiring per design drawings. Submit and track RFIs related to system design or implementation. + Verify SCADA and DFR points with utility operations staff; document results, communicate, and resolve discrepancies. + Technical and safety development. + Support the Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projects. + Perform Job Hazard Analysis

+ Attend virtual and on-site meetings related to the project.
