- Reviews expenditures and revenues of federal and private grants and contracts.
- Administers recording of accounting and budgetary transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing and posting of accounts.
- Reviews accounting transactions and assures compliance withe the statutory and systems transfer authority in maintaining the flow of capital funds.
- Complies and analyzes Combined Annual Financial Report (CAFR) as required by the State Department of Finance and Administration, ensuring n accuracy and compliance to the Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and Governmental Fund Accounting Concepts.
- Designs, develops and reviews expenditure schedules assuring compliance with state, federal, and private contract regulations.
- Researches accounting procedures, definitions, and guidelines in technical pronouncements to determine proper application to the accounting system and financial statements of the Central office.
- May assign, coordinate, or supervise work of other lowerlevel Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerks, and/or student workers performing technical and clerical accounting tasks.
- Presents information and explains underlying assumptions used in developing recommendations.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Accountant Senior who is passionate about cultivating the school's mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student.
This position is a full-time position for the Greenbrier Valley campus and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer/VP of Finance.
The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.
Job Summary
The Accountant Senior performs professional accounting functions in examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting records and financial information in order to prepare fiscal reports and advises management and staff on alternative courses of action.
Nature of Work
This position functions as the senior of two staff levels of accountant before management levels begin.
This senior level position is primarily responsible for providing technical and directional competency in the development of accounting systems and procedures, as well for maintaining the general accounting records of the Central Office and other assigned accounting entities.
The Accountant Senior is usually a non-supervisory position, but may serve as a lead to lower-level Accounting Clerks, Accounting Assistants, and/or student workers.
Job responsibilities require advance knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of a highly technical, professional, or administrative occupation.
Work is preformed under general direction, working from established policies and objectives to ensure the effectiveness of operations or services having significant impact within the institution.
The Accountant Senior exercises judgement to locate and select the most appropriate guidelines, references, and procedures for application, and adapts standard methods to fit variations in existing conditions.
Errors could easily result in substantial costs inconveniences, and disruption of services within the affected area.Examples of Duties

Minimum Qualifications
This position required a Bachelor's degree in Business Accounting and 3-4 years of directly related work experience.
A Master's degree or CPA is preferred to provide the applicant the ability to interpret provisions of federal regulations and NACUBO and AICPA guidelines.
