Description

Awetomaton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. In this role you will interface directly with R&D algorithm development teams. You will be applying expertise in Python for development of remote sensing tracking and detection algorithms.

The ideal candidate will possess a MS degree or higher in engineering or related field with 11+ years of experience.

This position will largely be performed at our Beavercreek office with weekly trips to customer site for testing and integration.

Availability is desired immediately. Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Criteria for success

Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers & decision makers.
Demonstrate initiative when faced with limited guidance or ambiguous requirements.
Strong experience in Python and Qt (Python or C++)

Desired Experience and Skills

Eleven (11) years of minimum experience developing algorithms and creating robust software implementations for integration into larger systems
Active Top Secret DoD security clearance

Master of Science in Engineering or related discipline, substitute 3 additional years experience with Bachelor of Science in lieu of Masters.

Experience with user interface development and design using Qt and pyQt
Background in remote sensing technologies and sensors, particularly with Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) systems
Support software transition from R&D to operations.
Proficient with software configuration management using Git.
