Program Manager, Natural Environment Programs - Northeastern United States - Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action
Description
The Program Manager, Natural Environment Programs plays a critical role in leading a small team of experts who provide environmental assessment advice into statutory planning processes, primarily related to managing biodiversity risk. Assessment types include large scale infrastructure, subdivisions, renewable energy facilities and agricultural and resources developments. The role also provides high quality advice into the development of regional environmental policy and strategy, working closely with the department's Planning and Approvals team.
The Program Manager is crucial in managing the department's risk profile and influencing effectively to achieve pragmatic, environmental outcomes considering government priorities. The role requires strong negotiation and influencing skills, as well as strong people management and team culture building skills. This role liaises closely with the other Program Managers across the State around building capacity both internally and externally in the environmental planning and regulations space.
This role will supervise between 4-6 staff.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Hume.
