    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Under the supervision of the director/manager or designee, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to identified needs of the general medical/surgical patient. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

    • Supports the HCA Code of Conduct. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.
    • Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
    • Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.
    • Demonstrates and promotes Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth's ALWAYS philosophy
    • Coordinating with pharmacists to address changes in patient condition or drug management issues.
    • Collaborating and conferring with MD or DOs, the appropriate branch staff regarding patient status and treatment needs.
    • Documenting all interactions and communication with patients, plan of treatment (POT), including assessment, treatments, patient responses/reactions to treatment, status of disease process and training activities in a timely basis
    • Entering documentation on paper or data into an electronic device
    • Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.
    • Demonstrates desirable work habits and promotes personal growth and professionalism in the work environment.
    What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing required with an Associates of Science in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Experience with high acuity PCU Medical/Surgical patients is preferred.
    • Texas RN license or compact state license required.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
    • Current Specialty certification preferred.
    • 1+ years clinic, dialysis or hospital experience required.
    • Chemo certification preferred.
    • Excellent phlebotomy and IV Skills required.
    • Experience accessing ports, fistulas, or grats highly preferred.
