    Austin Fleet Services (AFS) is hiring for an experienced diesel mechanic to add to our growing business We are a mobile and in-shop fleet maintenance and repair company serving customers in Texas.

    Essential Functions

    All diesel mechanic positions will be required to perform vehicle maintenance & repair duties safely and accurately in the shop and mobile in a fast-paced environment.

    Applicant must possess the highest level of honesty and integrity. You will diagnose and repair all makes and model class 1 to 8 trucks and trailers. Work is done at the shop or customer's location. Must have excellent communication skills, maintain good customer relationships, and possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

    Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision. Applicant must have own tools, and pass a full back ground check prior to employment.

    What you will do:

    • Diagnose and repair truck and trailer maintenance problems.
    • Repair class 1 to 8 engines, transmissions, air leaks, wheel assemblies, electrical, hvac, suspensions, and more.
    • Perform preventative maintenance inspections of all trucks, tractors and trailers.
    • Repair trailer doors, springs, panels, and lift gates.
    • Ensure that all parts and labor are accurately charged.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance to OSHA & client standards.
    • Possess a do whatever it takes attitude
    • The job also requires being on-call evenings and weekends on a rotational basis
    • Performs work by traveling independently to various locations as scheduled. Mobile & In-Shop.
    • This position may require working at customer location full-time and shift could be starting at 6:30am.

    Required Skills & Education:

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience working on medium/heavy duty truck and trailers or equivalent
    • HS Diploma
    • Technical College a plus
    • Clean driving record
    • Strong Electrical and Hydraulic back ground required. Ability to read electrical schematics
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
    • Applicant must have own tools related to work requirements
    • Must be able to multi-task and be very organized.
    • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
    • Willing to attend workshops and continuing education classes/programs
