Civil Engineering Technician

Full Time Position in Stockton

Experienced and Potential Civil Engineering Technicians are encouraged to apply for this immediate, full time opening. This Civil Engineering Technician works under the direct supervision of a Licensed Civil Engineer for a wide range of commercial, agricultural, residential, retail, and public works projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Civil Engineering Design under direction of licensed civil engineer for site and public improvement plans which include grading and drainage design, design of design of storm drainage-sanitary sewer-water, calculations and reports, and preparation of Storm Water Quality Control Plan and Storm Water Quality Control Plans. Drafting/AutoCAD, printing, assembling packages for clients, city/county submissions, copying, e-mails/outlook, answer phones and providing prompt, courteous service to callers including follow-up calls or other pertinent interaction.

**Support for land surveying including assistance in field surveying to obtain field information for Civil Design Projects.

**Civil Engineering storm water inspections and preparing storm water inspection reports.

Other: Deliveries to clients, city/county offices, post office and other work related travel. Keep office and work area clean.

Basic Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Autocad Civil 3D

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record-DMV printout.

Able to pass a drug test.

Ability to perform calculations.

Ability to report for work on time daily and work Monday-Friday as scheduled for 8 hours between 7am-5pm.

Ability to work overtime daily and/or weekends as needed.

Required Experience and Skills

Proficiency is required with Outlook, Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Most important are demonstrating outstanding professionalism and exceptional customer service ability, strong work ethic, sharp organizational skills, polished verbal and written communication skills, listening and problem solving ability and a proactive approach.

Ability to perform basic calculations (i.e. distance, square footage of land/acreage, trigonometry, slopes).

Quality note taking skills.

Attention to detail and consistency with processes.

Desire to learn the business and grow with the company.

Preferred Experience and Skills, but not required

Engineer in training license and college courses or degree in civil engineering.
