What will you be doing in this role:

The Associate Network Engineerperforms basic-level technical engineering support for monitoring and managing the Health Systems data communications network.

Helps implement standards, policies, and procedures, and works as a liaison with contractors and vendors to ensure the integrity and security of the network.

Responsible for assisting with large scale implementation and/or relocation of PCs and printers. Coordinates patching of computers and printers to the data network, deployment of virus updates, and patches.
Troubleshoot basic Network issues. (Cisco routing/switching, WiFi)

Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and basic modification of hardware application software to monitor and manage the data communications network.

Support Cedars sites for cabling trouble tickets, patching, connectivity issues, communication room maintenance, wireless access support, UPS installations, maintenance & battery swaps.

Supports port configurations, IP assignments, & special lab equipment.

Responsible for assisting with the evaluation and completion of complex cable installations, including cable plant, racks, trays and conduit, as required.

Responsible to insure the proper reporting of time and coordination of TFFs required for each work order.

Requires installation & configuration of UPS as well as troubleshooting, monitoring & updating database if swapping of device is needed.

Part of a team that provides 7x24 support for the applications and systems needed to maintain network security and integrity.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Two (2) plus years of experience working as a Network Engineer in a complex multi-platform, multi-protocol environment.
Understanding of Cisco routers, switches, and basic understanding of configurating switch commands. Preferrable ability to configure new switch.

6-months plus experience as a cabler demonstrating ability to patch network cables, image/installation of PCs or installation of network equipment.

UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supplies) configurations and maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledgeable of infection control procedures, fire code regulations, JCAHO regulations and organizational Policies & Procedures that govern the construction work on site as it relates to the installation of cable plant, racks, trays and conduit.

High School Diploma/GED.
CCNA preferred.
Certification of Fiber Optics a plus.
