    ABOUT THIS ROLESt. Michaels is hiring a Contract Specialist to support a Department of Defense client.

    As a Contract Specialist, you will assist Contracting Officers with pre- and post-award non inherently Governmental procurement functions for a broad range of commercial and non-commercial products and services, to include: various commodities, advisory and assistance services, IT support services, and systemintegration & sustainment.

    LOCATIONFort Eustis, VA (Hybrid)REQUIREMENTSPossesses level of experience and education commensurate with at least a GS-12/ DAWIA Level II, FAC-C level 2, CFCM or equivalent.

    Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Adobe, and Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) experience with in the last two years.

    Minimum of 5 years experience in contracting (SOF Acquisition is preferred)Expert knowledge in pre-award phase using simplified acquisition procedures in support of purchase orders and task order awards.

    Expert knowledge administering fixed price contracts and task orders.
    Expert oral and written communication skillsExpert knowledge in FAR Part 13 procedures including simplified procedures for certain commercial items.
    A bachelors or higher degree, then five years of experience is required.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPreparation and review of pre-award and post-award documents, analysis of cost and price factors, performance of procurement procedures applicable to simple and complex procurements, advising requiring activities on processes related to inspection and acceptation of goods and services, and coordinating the receipt of invoices with the Resource Management Section.

    Interpretation of solicitation provisions and contract clauses for vendors and Government officials providing professional advice and recommendations to decision makers and approval authorities.

    Perform contract administration and coordinate performance measurement with the requiring activity.
    Assisting the Contracting Officer with performing contract closeout functions for Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable contracts.

    Duties include interfacing with Program Office and Budget Office to verify that deliverables have been received by the Government and all funds have been expended, initiating applicable contract modification documents, drafting documentation, and preparing the closeout file for the Contracting Officers review and approval.
