Horizon Industries Limited (Horizon) is a dynamic IT and Management Consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area and we are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for a full-time position supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) onsite in Columbus, OH. or Richmond, VA.

Summary of Requirements:

• Seven (7) years of relevant IT experience
  
  • DOD Top Secret
  
  • Must be eligible for IT I
  
  • Relevant certification meeting DOD IAT level III
  
  • Relevant certification meeting DOD CND-IS
  
  • Computing Environment Certification
  
  • Four (4) years of experience maintaining Insider Threat solutions in a DOD
  environment
• Operating System Certification: Linux+ or RHEL

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer that will:

- Error correction and correct all maintenance problems that require code and/or operational
modifications.

• Preventive maintenance, evaluate and employ the tools and activities tuning, code restructuring, and
other efforts typically undertaken to improve the efficiency and reliability of programs and to
minimize ongoing maintenance requirements.

• Services for minor enhancements that will be made to the applications in response to written requests
from authorized officials.
- On Demand/Ad Hoc maintenance requests for the program.

• Application regulatory change review and ensure that all software, hardware, and applications
maintain compliance with regulatory changes.

• Patching and install manufacturer field change orders, service packs, firmware, and software
maintenance releases, etc. Perform product patch, "bug fix," service pack installation or upgrades to
the current installed versions.

Perform routine maintenance during regular periods scheduled in advance and approved by COTR/COR

Conduct maintenance periods with minimal impact to users (preferably outside normal business
hours). The contractor shall adjust their personnel's work schedule to conduct maintenance periods
outside normal Government business hours. Any additional maintenance conducted outside
Government normal business hours shall be included up front within the contractors pricing for this
effort. The maintenance period shall be conducted onsite and or performed remotely after receiving
COTR / COR advance approval.

• Ensure that systems will be unavailable during maintenance windows only to the extent necessary
for systems maintenance purposes.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Seven (7) years of relevant IT experience
• Experience with Insider Threat tools.
• Individuals with experience may be eligible for alternate work locations (in commuting proximity to DLA locations)
• Possess a relevant certification meeting the DOD IAT III. One of the following:
• CASP CE
• CCNP Security
• CISA
• CISSP (or Associate)
• GCED
• GCIH
• CCSP
• Must hold a DOD 8570 CNDSP/CSSP Infrastructure Support certification. One of the following:
• SSCP
• CEH
• GISCP
• CySA+
• CHFI
• CFR
• Cloud+
• CND
• Operating System Certification: Linux+ or RHEL
• Computing Environment Requirements with required experience: Insider Threat Tools
• Candidates must have an active SSBI or Tier 5 Background investigation/Top Secret
• Candidates must be eligible for IT-I
• Preferred Experience:
• DOD IA experience

Education: High School Degree or equivalent

Salary Range: $130,000 to $170,000

THE LOCATION

The Cybersecurity Engineer – Splunk position is onsite either in Columbus, OH or Richmond, VA.
