CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans including documenting nursing care, reporting symptoms and changes in patients' condition and vital signs. Modifies patient treatment plans according to patients' responses, conditions, and physician orders. Reviews, evaluates, and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient's condition. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding assigned patients to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Prepares patients for, and assists with examinations, procedures, and treatments. Considers patient age and cultural background during patient treatments and provides necessary information about treatment plan. Creates a supportive environment by offering psychological support. Administers appropriate patient tests and safely administers medications within the scope of practice. Administers and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulations, policies, procedures, and physician orders. Communicates the care plan promptly to patients, family, and team members while ensuring compliance with all guidelines. Utilizes resources for discharge planning. Plans, prioritizes, and adjusts assignments to achieve goals and deliver superior patient care; seeks help when required. Operates medical equipment safely. Acts as a preceptor and assists new staff in care provision to aid in their adaptation to the healthcare setting and direct patient care role. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and protects University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Certification and Licensing:
Florida Registered Nurse License
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS)
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
Proficient in health and safety guidelines and procedures (e.g., sanitation, decontamination)
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve various problems.
Maintains effective interpersonal relationships
Effective oral and written communication skills
