The Puyenpa family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. We are actively seeking an Employment Navigator based in Honolulu, HI. This position is onsite.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting DOLVETS/TAPS program assisting transitioning service members. The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Assess the transitioning Servicemember and/or transitioning spouse's acquired skills via tools/software provided and assist with career exploration and translating their military experience desired by future employers.
• Connect transitioning Servicemembers and/or spouses to DOL government and non-government partners as well as American Job Centers based on the Servicemember and/or spouse's needs.
• Some travel may be required.

The qualified candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor's degree or four years of experience working as a Workforce Solutions, Workforce Development, Career Counselor, Human Resources (HR) Specialist and/or experience in employment counseling, vocational counseling, guidance, placement counseling, rehabilitation counseling or educational counseling.
• Knowledge of the civilian workplace, translating military skills/language, assessing job market, and researching/interpreting job requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Applications and virtual platforms.
• Able to work well with the Military clients and must be able to communicate orally and in writing

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's Degree
