Parts Specialist I VDOT - Sandston - Mancon Inc.

Overview

The Parts Specialist I provides counter service to VDOT employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. The Parts Specialist I will assist with inventory control, data entry in inventory systems, customer service, and may occasionally drive a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts.

Responsibilities

Provide Quality Customer Service

• Attention to detail
• Review and adhere to Product Group Catalog.
• Review and adhere to Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Review and adhere to MANCON's SOPs and Safety Manual.
• Meet and greet customers
• Verify requisition forms for accuracy
• Answer questions about part availability
• Research and provide correct parts
• Inform customers of available parts

Parts Pick-up

• Drive vehicles to designated locations to purchase/pick up parts
• Provide documentation to vendors (tax exempt form, credit references)
• Verify invoices at vendor location for accuracy
• Return products to MANCON in a timely manner

Data Entry Requirements

• Generate invoices for customer requisitions
• Enter vendor receiving documents into inventory system

Inventory Management Requirements

• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts
• Conduct counts during Wall to Wall inventories

Other Requirements

• FOLLOW GUIDELINES FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
• Provide 24-hour support during emergencies
• Travel to locations to pick up parts
• Assist with inventory research projects
• Adhere to required procedures
• Participate in SCM continuing training program
• Assist with Store Supervisor duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1 year computer experience
• 24-hour availability
• Valid Driver's License with 2 years driving experience
• 1 year experience with auto or heavy-duty truck parts

Preferred Qualifications

• Delivery Driver experience
• Inventory experience
• P1 or P2 ASE certification
• Maintain a forklift license
• Current COVID-19 vaccine

Physical Requirements

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Requirements Other

Work is mostly performed in storerooms and warehouses with uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions. Work is also performed in vehicles traveling to sites.
