- Age Range: Kindergarten to age 21
- Conducting Speech-Language Evaluations: Perform assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Developing and Implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and manage IEPs tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Delivering Speech-Language Services: Provide direct therapy to students, utilizing evidence-based practices to improve their communication skills and achieve educational goals.
- Collaborating with Educators and Families: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development and address communication challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, therapy sessions, evaluations, and other required documentation.
- CCC or CF: Open to candidates who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or are in their Clinical Fellowship (CF) year.
- License/Certification: Must have an active SLP license in the state of New York.
- Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children or in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
