    We are hiring a Carpenter Apprentice/Facilities Improvement Technician for our growing team The Carpenter Apprentice/Facilities Improvement Technician is responsible for assisting the construction team in daily tasks assigned to complete the current project while developing skills to advance in the field of carpentry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a clean job site that promotes safety and efficiency
    • Loading and delivering materials to the job site
    • Assist carpenter and take measurements to calculate the size and amount of material needed
    • Assist carpenter with renovations and new construction tasks
    • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
    • Layout floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
    • Assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated
    • Prep interior and exterior surfaces for painting and wallpaper hanging; mix and apply paints, and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray machines. Install and finish sheetrock and plastering as needed.
    • Install, replace or repair flooring materials - wood, synthetic, roll goods, carpet, seamless floor, ceiling grid, cove base, wall treatments - paint, wallcovering, protective panels, edges, fasteners, and coatings.
    • Participate in department-wide projects and assist other trades workers with maintenance and repair projects as directed.
    • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
    • Build scaffolding and other construction structures
    • Maintain a respectful relationship with employees, interns, and persons served/clients.
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc. staff and persons served/clients alike.
    • Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.
    • Follow all OSHA guidelines for Maintenance and Construction sites
    • Performs other general construction duties assigned.

    Key Experience and Education Needed:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Preferred: associate degree, vocational training, and experience with an apprenticeship in a related field

    Other Qualifications to be Considered:

    • Working knowledge in a carpentry-related field
    • Previous working experience in a carpentry-related field
    • General knowledge of different carpentry materials and techniques
    • Hands-on experience with appropriate electrical and air tools
    • Hands-on experience with different forms of heavy machinery
    • High school diploma/GED
    • Ability to problem-solve
    • Safety awareness
