Design catalysts for diesel exhaust after-treatment systems
Optimize catalyst systems for improved performance
Troubleshoot current product issues
Develop best practices for catalyst design tasks (simulations, engine tests, field tests)
Apply materials science knowledge to solve design, manufacturing, and quality problems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on material selection, failure analysis, and process development
Evaluate and implement emerging material and processing technologies
Lead small projects and provide technical direction
Mentor less experienced engineers

Skills:
Proficient in laboratory test technology, particularly metallurgical analysis
Experienced in failure analysis to determine root causes and develop countermeasures
Knowledgeable in material characterization techniques

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of after-treatment components and system performance for diesel and alternate fuel engines
Proficiency in MATLAB and engine data analysis
Ability to work independently as a catalyst performance specialist
Familiarity with modeling tools like BOOST
Prior experience with reactor tests, simulation model development, and catalyst performance characterization for diesel applications
Knowledge of catalyst manufacturing processes and quality check procedures
