    Description

    The Senior Accountant provides accounting and financial reporting support reporting to the Corporate Controller. This is an individual contributor role that provides weekly and monthly reporting to the executive team to aid in decision making and monitoring of the performance of the Company. The role is primarily recurring work but there are opportunities to work on projects supporting the operations of the business. We expect a senior accountant to possess strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to work cross-functionally, and a strong accounting background.     FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITES

    Accounting
    • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for APR Supply and affiliated companies
    • Contribute to monthly close process including journal entries, variances, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
    • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accounts are properly maintained in accordance with GAAP standards
    • Complete weekly dashboard / score cards for the executive team in addition to analyzing financial data
    • Assist with annual external audits by gathering requested documents and answering auditor questions
    • Support the marketing and sales departments with monthly income statements
    • Monitor internal financial controls and recommend improvements for efficiency and risk reduction
    • Collaborate with outside accountants to maintain fixed asset schedules.
    • Complete local tax, and state and local governmental reporting
    • Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data analysis and report development
    • Identify process improvement opportunities within the accounting department
    • Other project-based work as needed
    Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a medium to large scale company
    • Strong accounting and/or finance background
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills focused on data analysis
    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, and Teams
    • Expected to work independently, working under the general direction of the Corporate Controller
    • Required maturity and a high level of professionalism coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
    • Strong attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
    • High degree of accuracy
