    Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.

    Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $17.21 – $20.43 per hour.

    Duties include assisting in the preparation of water quality scientific research projects; assisting in the development or review of various routine scientific reports, letters, memos, permits, and formal and informal enforcement documents; participating in water quality site inspections and field sampling; assisting in analyzing laboratory samples. This job includes hiking and carrying equipment to sampling locations in various weather conditions. Please review the duty statement for additional information.

    Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

    Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
