    Position Summary:

    This position requires the ability to underwrite casualty accounts, provide technical expertise in this area, maintain and improve market growth regionally.

    Essential Functions:
    • The underwriting, rating, quoting, and binding casualty accounts in accordance with RSUM guidelines specific to your Underwriting Letter of Authority granted by the team leader and/or Chief Underwriting Officer.
    • Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining underwriting methods and techniques, achieving underwriting integrity in a cost-effective manner.
    • Complete documentation and management of all accounts assigned.
    • Ability to handle a relatively high volume of transactions, of small and mid-sized accounts of varying complexity.
    • Underwriters are accountable to permissible loss/ratio standards.
    • Participate in underwriting meetings/educational seminars/continued education courses.
    • Other relevant duties as assigned
    Education/Experience/Skills:
    • 1-3+ years Casualty underwriter experience preferred, or a Bachelors degree with an RMI focus.
    • AIM agency management system skills highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated proficient technical underwriting expertise.
    • Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiation skills.
    • Self-directed, goal oriented Individual with problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Customer service skills: listening and understanding client business priorities.
    • Strong relationship development skills.
    • Ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
    • Critical attention to details.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel.
    • Proven track record of being a team player.
    • May be required to have and maintain a valid driver's license.
