Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner II provides respiratory care through patient assessment planning intervention education and evaluation Performs all respiratory care procedures including oxygen aerosolized medication delivery ventilator care bronchial hygiene therapy diagnostic services patient staff education monitors patients response to therapies makes recommendations to change modify based on assessment.Responsibilities
- Maintains adequate number of respiratory care staff to cover patient care areas needs serves as shift Charge Therapist assigns respiratory care staff work areas assignments modifies work assignments assists with meal coverage fields call offs provides adequate staffing levels next shift.
- Assists physician performing procedures such as bronchoscopy transtracheal catheter insertion tracheotomy intubation if intubation performed by respiratory therapy facility assists with tracheostomy endotracheal tube changes invasive monitoring performs CPR closed chest compressions airway management techniques accordance AHA ACLS protocol.
