    JOB SUMMARYThe practice supervisor is responsible for the operational management of a midsized physician practice, multiple smaller practices or a functional area within a larger practice.

    Drawing on a broad understanding of MHPN practices and polices, and displaying a high degree of initiative and independent judgement, the practice supervisor continually assesses and directs and wide range of programmatic issues, including physician relations, support staff management, customer service, analysis and reengineering of processes, achievement of practice goals and support, revenue optimization and expense control
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnsures smooth day-to-day operations and problem solvingHires and trains new staffIdentifies, analyzes and proactively improves practice processes, with the goal of maximizing efficiency and effectiveness, including distribution of work among staff and providersMonitors the financial and operational health of the practice, by focusing on increasing volume and productivity and managing expensesEnsures that supplies are ordered according to policies and procedures and supplies are maintained at established; brings equipment or facility issues to attention of managementEnsures that cash drawer is reconciled daily and bank deposits are made as directed, identifies and reports EPIC workflow, work queue or usage issuesMonitors provider schedules to ensure that patient access is maximized, schedules and supervises work assignments and maintains staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage without unapproved overtime; requests float pool coverage

    Required Minimum Education:
    Vocational/Technical Degree

    Preferred Education:2 year/Associates Degree
    Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Associate Degree or Clinical Post Secondary Education with 1 year clinical lead experience or a combination of proven 2 or more years of physician practice leadDemonstrated ability to lead and develop people, to include experience dealing with complex physician related issuesExperience in CPT and ICD-9 coding required.

    Must have working knowledge of ICD-10 terminologyMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    WORKING CONDITIONS**Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.


    General office environment:
    works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air conditioned office area, with moderate noise levels.
    May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse.
    May be required to use physical restraints.

    May be exposed to adverse weather conditions:
    cold, hot, dust, wind, etc. Identifies and understands issues and problems.
    Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
    Long-distance or air travel as needed –not to exceed 10% travel.
    May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
    May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids.
    Potential exposure to infectious organisms.

    May be constantly interrupted; requiring changing from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composureMay have periods of constant interruptions.

    Prolonged periods of working alone may occur.
