Full-Time, Non-Represented, Core ScheduleHours : 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week)
IF APPOINTED PROVISIONALLY THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST BE QUALIFIED TO TAKE THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION WHEN MADE AVAILABLE.
FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HOLD THE TITLE OF ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT OR MUST BE CANVASSED AND REACHABLE FROM THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE LIST.
JOB DUTIES:
May include preparing cash receipts for all funds received, preparing daily deposits, general journal entries, cash sheet updates, daily bank balance review and reconciliation, spreadsheet updates for certain payments, account review and reconciliation as needed.
Responsible for all transactions, reporting, and monitoring the Special Aid Fund; assists with the General Fund; a nalysis, recording, and monitoring of field trips, Medicaid and budget transfers; a ssists and d evelops, recommends, and implements new accounting procedures and systems in order to provide a clear audit trail of financial transactions as needed; assists District Treasurer and Assistant Superintendent for Finance with any tasks, and special projects as needed.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
a) Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance; and two years of satisfactory accounting or auditing experience; or
b) An Associate Degree in accounting, business administration or finance; and two years of satisfactory accounting or auditing experience; or
c) Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a) or b).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite is helpful. Knowledge of double entry accounting principles and prior bookkeeping experience is preferred.
