College/Department Information
The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) is a new initiative by Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, harnessing the power of the immune system to combat diseases. Led by renowned immunologists Drs. Catherine 'Lynn' Hedrick and Klaus Ley, the IMMCG aims to develop innovative treatments for prevalent conditions in Georgia and the US, such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, autoimmune disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. The center is actively recruiting faculty and staff to drive projects in these areas.
Job Summary
As a Research Associate, you will primarily manage mouse colonies, handling breeding, genotyping, and other care tasks. Additionally, you will assist with administrative duties like ordering supplies and maintaining stocks related to mouse research. This role requires the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Master's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field, with research experience; or Bachelor's degree with at least three years of research/clinical experience, including supervisory roles.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (may require work outside normal hours). Salary: $36,197-$50,675 annually. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, and tuition assistance.
