Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer (Sup TE), the Senior Transportation Engineer serves as the Deputy Project Manager, Contract Manager, and Third-Party Engineer and is responsible for overseeing the technical designs for preliminary and advanced engineering documents/deliverables, as well as managing and tracking specific tasks and deliverables within the design contract, ensuring that assigned contracts and agreements are administered and managed in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures of the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), the State Contracting Manual (SCM) and the California Government Code (GC), as well as management of assigned contracts in accordance with federal and State of California laws and regulations, contract provisions and the Authority's policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent will assist in the coordination of utility and local facility relocations impacted by the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) project.
Working Conditions
Hiring interviews may be available virtually, using teleconferencing or video conferencing options.Telework is available for this position with a minimum of two in-person working days per week.While working on site, the incumbent works in a professional office environment, in a climate-controlled cubicle which may fluctuate in temperature and is under artificial light. Incumbent will be required to use a computer, mouse, and video display terminal and will be required to sit for long periods of time at a computer screen. Employee must be able to focus for long periods of time, multi-task, adapt to changes in priorities and complete tasks or projects with short notice. Employees may be required to travel outside of their workstation to perform general tasks.
