    Linux System Automation Engineer


    The Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Engineering group in the Core Infrastructure division at Brokerage is responsible for designing and implementing the firm's huge scale global Linux and Virtualization infrastructure.

    The group is involved in evaluation, certification, integration, and maintenance of numerous products, including hardware, hypervisor platform, the Linux OS platform, system configuration, critical infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.), high availability products and virtualization management technologies.


    We are seeking an experienced Linux system automation engineer to join a small, distributed team focused specifically on the Linux server infrastructure provisioning and automation, which supports our low-latency trading business.

    The role requires deep Linux systems knowledge in architecting, automating, certifying and deploying new solutions for the business, and the ability to troubleshoot down to the lowest technical levels in a high-pressure, revenue-generating context.


    These hands-on roles require senior engineers, with experience using declarative configuration-as-code principles and extensive automation across a mixture of strategic engineering and design projects.

    The role will involve feature addition, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of the existing Linux platform management systems as well as work directly with Linux O/S configuration and builds.

    Qualifications
    Skills Required

    Experience of using a modern configuration management system (examples such as Ansible, Salt Stack, or chef) to automate the management of a large-scale Linux deployment.

    Expert knowledge of Linux
    Ability to write robust, maintainable code in Python.
    Effective troubleshooting skills across hardware, O/S, network, and storage.
    Experience with large complex orchestrations.
    Enthusiasm for modern DevOps tools and practices including Git, Jenkins, automated testing, and continuous integration.

    Skills Desired
    Experience with Linux server provisioning process
    Experience with configuration management and CMDB
    Experience with SQL and NoSQL queries

    Experience working in a large, multi-national enterprise in any industry vertical, showing experience of communicating and collaborating in globally distributed teams.

    Experience of designing, implementing and supporting large scale production IaaS platforms.
    Knowledge of building and managing Docker containers in a secure manner.
